I know what I'm eating tonight....

Props are due to Hela Blog for thishttp://www.blogger.com/img/blank.gif invention.

What we have here is an amazing mash up of spaghetti and hot dogs. Could a broke college student like myself ask for anything else? In case you couldn't figure it out already, this invention is made possible by sticking the noodles in the hot dog before cooking them.

Wikileaks server headquarters....I want to work here!

Sorry all for lack of updates, I was called out of town unexpectedly. Should be back to normal now though.

Banhof ISP, best known probably as the server for wikileaks turns out to have one hell of an office. There office is an old fallout shelter 100 feet below the ground under a mountain.

This place is cool as all hell.

Carbon Scrubbing Artifical Trees That Look Cool?

The great thing about design students is they usually have plenty of time and plenty of drugs, both of which were probably employed in the creation of this. The picture is of artificial trees that scrub out CO2, much the same way regular trees do.

The other cool thing is that the trees are made out of recycled plastic bottles.

However, aside from the fact that they light up at night, why not just plant a regular damn tree instead?

Now you can 'safely' text and walk...

This supposedly came out a few months ago, but it's new to me.

Android and iPhones now have an app that uses your phones camera and intergrates it with texting so you can see what's in front of you while you're walking (or driving unfortunately as well), my only concern is how would I see the keyboard in say a snowstorm?

Acapulco flooded with fish, fishermen have a hay day

Fish have been swarming Acapulco, to the point that some people thought it was an oil spill coming in. Some people are attributing this to the tsunami in Japan, but no one can be for sure. Either way the fisherman are quite happy. I also imagine it would be quite fun to swim around with all these fish.

Chocolate Guinness Pudding

In honor of the upcoming St. Patty's day, here is a recipe for a Chocolate Guinness Pudding. I've actually made a close variation of this before and very much enjoyed it.

One of my favorite scenes from the Office (US version)

Saw this scene last night in a rerun, one of the more hilarious moments. What's one of your favorite scenes? And shall we stir the debate between the UK and USA version?

Sometimes my life is a sitcom..

So while the majority of the time I will be blogging about fun things I find on the internet, me being a bar fly in a college town does present a myriad of funny situations that come up.

Anyways, night before last presented a serious 'FML' situation. I was, along with most of the college-aged town, celebrating Mardi Gras and had quite a few drinks. With about an hour before close I met this very cute girl who was a 9 out of 10 in looks easily. She also was really cool to talk to so instead of trying to go the one night stand route with her, I decided to just get her number so I could maybe actually get to know her.

Anyways, she decided to make the move and asked if I wanted to come over, obviously if the girl is asking you can't say no. So I get her address and she gives me her phone so I can dial in my number.

30 minutes later I drive to her apartment and realize that although I have the address I forgot to get the apartment number, I proceed to call her phone, but she doesn't answer. I wait a few minutes, call back and no answer. Finally, I call back one last time to leave a message along the lines of "hey I understand if you don't want to hook up tonight, but I'd still like to take you out sometime". I head home.

Next morning my friend sends me a chat message on facebook asking him why I had left him a message about hooking up. Then it all made sense...

I had gotten his number a few minutes earlier to get him signed up for a march madness bracket, but forgot about that. Then, when typing my number in the girls phone, I never actually either saved it or called my phone. Thus, there was no way I was getting a hold of her and instead of probably getting laid by a hot chick, a guy thinks I have a gay crush on him.

Summary for those in a hurry:
Meet girl at bar
Forget to get apt number or phone number
Call wrong number
Miss out on girl, person I call thinks I'm gay.

Satirical Art Drawings

Sorry for the broken link in the last post. I've been out of town the past couple days and just noticed. Hopefully this collection of moving and at times funny satirical drawings will make up for it.

Alien Life Found by Nasa Scientist

Well if you're like me it's not surprising that a credible source has come forward with evidence of alien life. We're not talking about full-sized creatures, but instead microorganisms. The thing I find most fascinating is that they resemble organisms found on our planet. Check out the link.

Rubber Ducks Help Scientists Understand Ocean Currents

Not sure what's more amazing how this accidental spill of rubber ducks taught us so much about currents or that there's actually enough demand to be shipping rubber ducks 28,000 at a time.

Hope you enjoy:

OK, so I'm not a huge star wars geek like I'm sure some of you are, but I was a huge fan of Dr. Seuss growing up and I guess what'd you consider an average fan of star wars. The link below is a collection of "Star Wars, if Dr. Seuss had drawn it" enjoy.

Dead Drop

So someone has come up with the clever idea of selectively placing usb smart drives around busy parts of town in what's called a dead drop. Similar to geocaching I suppose, you can hook up any usb functional device and upload or download fun files. Check the link for more.
